2. Phranakorn Bar

Head directly for the roof terrace and order yourselves some cheap Thai food. Then take your time to stumble through the gallery exhibitions and music shows whilst absorbing the eclectic decor. 4. Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar

5. The Iron Fairies

6. Raintree Pub

‘Songs for life’? Indulge yourself in the music born during the rock protest movement in the 60′s and 70′s through the live bands hosted by this bar. A more Westernised concept, with embedded Thai roots, you’ll feel like you’re out in the woods surrounded by a rustic hunter’s cabin decorated with buffalo horns.

This East India Company vault has fused sexiness with enigma and lure. Thanks to Ashley Sutton (also responsible for the fascinating decor of the Iron Fairies), this place has become one of Bangkok’s best nightlife venues. 10. Hippie De Bar

Settle down hippies…although a popular attraction for this type of crowd, the same goes for alternative Thais. An old house converted into a hangout spot for those seeking an atmosphere enshrined in psychedelic paraphernalia, old kitsch decor and mismatched furniture. Drink for cheap to a soundtrack swaying from oldie to indie.
